Feathers

Speaking of feathers, in the “Light as a…” kind, because can you ever see this too many times?
I didn’t think so.

  2. I think my second picnic comment is here on the wrong post. You see, I swim around your site, drinking it all in. Oh, and about the dogs (since I'm back here)? They are a huge part of your life, and part of your life is this blog. Don't separate the two. I love the dogs. LOVE them.

  3. As my day became even more stressful, I had to come to this post one more time. The photo captioned, 'We don't need more…' has the most beckoning amber light. And the skillful way in which you wrote the piece makes me feel it…and need it. I think you know the life you have; kudos for making it happen for yourself. The rest of us can only dream (at least for now…).

  4. I agree with a lot of the other readers, keep the pups here! They are a part of your life, a part of you that we all love reading about. Unless of course you were going to go fiction, think Milo and Otis where there would be dialogue between them, adventures to be had and cases to be solved, then maybe. : )

  5. Heather.. I love this post. You know I am such a dog lover and the noses.. I adore their cold little (or big!) noses. My little Layla is always showing up in my blog posts. Dear Ginger (my old girl) is usually sleeping these days. When she feels like having her picture taken (I know how she feels!) I always include her.

    Light as a feather. Such a beautiful post and I love the dance!

    I prefer they remain here because your blog has the feel of home. And that's where the pets belong.

  9. I think keep the dogs in this blog, they are apart of you.
    I fell in love with a cocker spaniel last night, but what was funny was the way hubs did too, he was never keen on dogs and has always been quite insular, I wonder what it is that we are both needing just now.

  14. Fred and Ginger, light as feathers on their feet. What a duo. And speaking of duo, yep if a separate blog will give us more viewing time of Ben and Kipling, I'm all for it. BTW the brown feather looks like a brown trout at the bottom of a river bed. The first picture of one of the dogs with the white feather…great camera angle.

Your blog is a mix of poetry in words and images, your musings, and your happiness with your puppers! That's who and what you are. That's what your blog is. I don't think you need to categorise parts of it separately. I enjoy the mix! Love the top photo. Made me smile!

    BTW, I know you all in France & the US are looking froward to spring, but oh my goodness, can't wait for a little cooler weather here soon. We've had a heatwave going on and on.   19. I saw a programme with that feather dress in it- Fred hated it but I can't recall why! It moved beautifully though! Lovely photos and I also add my vote to keeping dog news integrated 🙂

  20. As a fairly new blogger compared to most of the ones I read, I follow their blog because I like it. Maybe one day they write about their thoughts, and the next pictures of what they've seen that day, which is why I always enjoy your posts, please don't stray away with another blog, keep the stories & updates of your dogs antics as part of your blog. I feel they belong there, as they are part of your life.

  30. Heather, you're just going to love this story. One of my girlfriends, a complete animal nut, works in retail. A couple of weeks ago a customer came in, told Jeanne she was moving to Indonesia, had 2 dogs, a big one and a little one. She can take the little one easily, but because the black Lab has seizures at age 10, he couldn't stand the travel time. Undaunted, Jeanne told her she would love to see the dog, the lady should bring him over for a visit with their 3 cats (yuk) and their female black Lab & a Pekingese.
    The male dog did wonderfully with all the other animals, and Jeanne's husband fell in love with him. Bottom line…the dog moved in forever yesterday. We just never know where angels are going to be, do we?

  38. I was just focusing on the feather when a muzzle popped into the frame! And am just trying to find a balance between sharing the dogs and not overwhelming the non-pupper people who read here too…
    But you are right, they are very much a part of our ongoing story.

I am like Judith, I love having Ben and Kipling as part of this blog. . .because you allow us to peek into your life and loves in this blog and it seems to me that those two furry ones contribute so much to both your life and love it would be a shame to move the focus on them to some other place.

  41. Yes, I love the simple, peaceful photos, and you're right – the "light as a feather" Fred Estaire cannot be enjoyed too much! (and methinks she has feathers on her dress as well!). I think the feathers and lightness are reminding me to be "light" today – to not get too bogged down by worries; to focus on the beauty and love all around me! Thank you, Sister! : )
