Let freedom ring.
I am sharing one of my favorite photos from the wedding last weekend as Liberty was somehow a subject that Remi and I were talking about quite a bit in the car and so it applies. Independence. Freedom. What is the cost to create an existence in which one is libre? What are you willing to do and what are you willing to go without to have that? To know that you are the owner of your life, your will, your heart?
Is today Egypt’s Independence Day? Only time will tell. But how right for the millions to stand in the streets and say, “We want our rights respected now.” No army could face that down.
To all of my friends and family in the States, I am wishing you a Happy Independence Day.
And you know what? For all of you that live in a free country, I am wishing you the same too…

Yes, so lovely, but a gray day. No rain, though, so we were happy. The wine, the cognac, the food – all beautiful. The bride looked like an angel. No, our Frenchy 4th not the same. Only had one Bastille Day last year and the fireworks were disappointing :-). Bisous back!
Great picture! I hope you had a great 4th of July even though you were not in the USA. Have a great day.
I'm afraid freedom for me ends up being much more precious when it's lost. Freedom of movement when I'm incapacitated, or the streets are blocked off, or flights are canceled, when I can't get somewhere or get some thing…
Thank you so much for this wonderful response, Mumbai. I always appreciate hearing from you. And I wish you a wonderful weekend as well!!
I agree with you whole-heartedly, Lorrie.
I need to see a photo!!! Pleeeease???
So do I, Leslie. I think that you know that Ben is petrified of loud noises. I will have to think up a plan for Bastille Day. And yes, I can imagine that it would be a painful trigger for our veterans as well.
I am so proud to know you as you are a fine keeper of the flame of our freedom…voting rights included!
Oooh, the wedding must have been lovely!!! Was the weather good? We got lucky. And I bet the wines were fantastic!! 🙂
Yes, not the same is it? Our Frenchy 4th? And Bastille Day just doesn't cut it for me!
Bisous…
What is freedom , what is happiness? Both not explicable. …and is it existing at all or only in our linguistic use or is it a figment or in our wishfulness ? So many people are living so many opinions you can get about this/these questions. A very philosophic topic.
We will think and discuss about on weekend. Have a wonderful one.
