Everything that makes living in a small town in Provence worthwhile…
Car wash
We took our old Saab for a ride today–yes, think “Sideways”.
Am I crazy? I found the bubbles beautiful…
Bon-weekend à toutes et à tous…

I usually am impatient while waiting for the car to be cleaned but since I had my camera with me, it shifted my perspective and now I will look at the experience as you do! Our Saab is amazing, ancient and so reliable–not to mention fast as the dickens when we ask it to be. (Or Remi does, I should say as I don't drive)
Grazie, Ostuni. Benvenuto!
Dear Mademoiselle Coquine…..yes, you can sit in the car during the car wash….at least here in North Carolina. Of course, we're also allowed to vote Jessye Helms into the senate for twenty-years-running and any number of other self-destructive things.

You're not crazy for thinking the bubbles are beautiful! They are.
I love that you were allowed to sit in the car while it got washed. Was it one of those American-style automatic wash where you're sucked into the tunnel o' suds. I hear that you can't sit in the car in the States anymore. Bummer. That was the best part of doing an otherwise household chore!
I LOVE taking the car or the truck through the local car-wash…..but I do it only if all the terriers are with me.
Neither you nor anyone else on God's Green Planet has any idea how much noise a pack of territorial terriers can (and do) make when the car wash starts up and begins suds-ing down THEIR territory. It's like the final battle scene in "Avatar".
I know…if I were a nicer man, I wouldn't do this. But I'm not, and I do.
While I'm in this mood?….I'll also confess to occasionally putting on the video of "As Good As It Gets" (the movie with Jack Nicholson, an oppressed Helen Hunt, and a VERY prominent & barky jack-russell terrier). My oldest female terrier HATES the dog in that movie (there are many charming close-up shots of the damn dog as it barks at one of the actors). The two youngest males LOVE that terrier….they begin whining piteously…..and running out into the hallway behind the bedroom (as though the television were window showing a dog behind it). They whine and whine…all they want is to meet their new best-friend….and they can never find him.
The car wash is where Hubby and I do all our best necking!
Great post Heather, refreshing and original! Just took my Saab for a wash last week and thought what fun it was to have those few minutes immersed in water and bubbles. Suspended in time until the door opens and its time to drive forward with your clean car. I love the bubbles & Saabs!
Alas, Ben is a big Baby compared to DD. He freaks out!!!
And for that, my dear Suze, it was all worthwhile…
