“Something hidden. Go and find it.
Go and look behind the Ranges —
Something lost behind the Ranges.
Lost and waiting for you. Go!”
–From “The Explorer” by Rudyard Kipling
This quote was one of the first that Remi, my companion since eleven years, showed me when we first met. And I have never found a better to describe the essence of his extraordinary spirit…how he will hunt down the last of the light in order to capture it forever, how he doesn’t hesitate to barrel down the next road, no matter how rough it may be.
Remi, my love for you is as wide as the horizon…
As strong as ancient stone…
And runs as deep as a spring drawing down to the center of the earth.
We are growing older together…
…with our little family!
Here are to the wonderful adventures that lie ahead…
Happy Birthday, sweetheart.
I believe in you.

That was so sweet. Wishing Remi a wonderful birthday. (When I was little I used to watch this carton programme on the Italian channels. It was called Dolce Remi (Sweet Remi). Every time you talk about Remi I go back 30 odd years or more.) Wishing you both many more years together.
I dont know you, but I know you and you are beautiful. You and your family!

This is so sweet Heather. Wishing you both many birthdays ahead 🙂
Time to celebrate!
Happy Birthday Remi!
I know that we will meet eventually in Provence.
Until then, we send you wishes for a wonderful day from your friends in California.

And beautiful comment, Remi, as well. Happy Birthday!
Beautiful, Heather. Just catching up with your lovely blog. Much reading and gazing to do.
Dear all,
I thank you very much for all your good Wishes. Genuinely. Thank you.
It is the second time that I leave a post or a comment on Heather's Blog. The first one was right at the beginning of her adventure. I admit to have encouraged her a bit to launch this exquisite relationship with you. I admit also that I do not want to get involved with her world here. She is talented and she has to fly by herself. She does. Day after day her writing gets more impressive. I am proud of her and proud of you too, because you answer a lot of humanity and kindness in your posts and comments. Life is real. And a Birthday makes us all remember to be there.
Love you H
Remi
So sweet. Love IS in the air in the blogosphere, isn't it? Happy Birthday to Remi and here's to another 11 years plus many, many more for you and the beautiful and happy family that you've created.
On a side note: I noticed that you've changed your profile photo. I don't think I've ever seen full frontal photo of you. Quelle bellegosse. ; )
Happy Birthday Remi! Will we have a post on the birthday feast? Inquiring minds want to know! And cake! He has to have a cake! Do you bake, Heather?
(And, I'll admit, sentimentalist that I am, this post put a wee lump in my throat.)
Bon anniversaire, Remi! I love the idea of chasing and capturing light. Here's to a beautiful new year ahead.
