Le grand départ, deux

I will finish off this week with the last of Sunday’s photos before it is too late. I can see Mars waving his flag at me furiously from his perch on the tour de la Marie. “Time is fleeting, Heather!” he shouts with no uncertain wonder. The clock is most definitely ticking as summer swans along winsomely but unwelcome, at least in my household where autumn is honored as the most beautiful season of all. Let the light scribble to me in code, I can read it like a map…and know where we are headed…

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Wishing you at least one giggle fit and and a good surprise, wherever you are…

  1. Heather, that gold wall could be framed as is, it looks like a marvelous abstract painting. I pinned it!

  2. Already, Helen? I know that you are up North but still! Actually, we have had such a dry Summer that or leaves have just started falling off!!! No lovely colors for us this year I am afraid.

Also wishing you an absolutely wonderful week ahead…

  3. Hello Heather

Your photos are just spectacular. My favourite is the peeling paint on the door.
We drove through the country today and it is definitely showing signs of Autumn.
Wishing you a week of joy

    Helen xx

  4. Sorry, I blanked out after "copperheads" for a minute there. And that historic commission must not have the facts down straight as many an original Victorian was trimmed in an unusual panoply of colours…just sayin'.

  5. Unlike our friend, Rev. Terry, I don't live in a historic house. (He's much more equipped for THAT task than I am. If you were on FB, you'd be as bowled over as I was by all the canning and pickling and relishing he has been up to his elbows in. Oh, yeah, and during breaks he was out in the yard taking out the resident copperheads.)

Nobody cares what you do to a 1960's ranch, but we did have a friend who had to run every paint color she wanted to use on her historic Victorian by the historic commission in town. The raspberry trim was particularly contentious!

  6. Isn't it the best?! Still sending extra good thoughts and energy your way…

  7. It totally is Ann. I hope that you are finding a way to make the most of this last bit of Paris time before your move. And I fear you are a classier act than I with my five espressos drowned before I can put two words together!!!

  8. If you painted your door that color of blue, folks in your neighborhood would probably call the Thoreau Commission or something…;) Thanks for the photo!!!

  9. Don't forget that I grew up in the Middle West, Jackie–not France!– trust me, I have done my time…
